Lamination Exploration: Here Comes Season 5!!!

Hello, hello, hello, Friends and Fellow Bakers!!!! I am ***SO*** excited to be here again, writing to and for you here at Baking Summit! I had a busy summer, including but not limited to completely changing careers at the super young and irresponsible age of 36 LIKE A CHAMP. It has been terrifying and excellent and many other adjectives, but none of that matters when there is baking to do!!!!

Today marks the season premier of Season 6 of GCBS, and I am sure you are all as delightfully delighted to watch as I am. I figured this is as good a time as any to resume the blog, so here we are, from me to you: consider Baking Summit back and better than ever.

Featured as a teaser are the croissants I baked up today. I am finally, finally close to mastering these flaky little bitches. This marks a huge personal achievement for me, as it was this bake that first planted a seed of fear and longing in me as a baker when I was young. 20 years later and here we are. Persistence is one of the many lessons of baking, as is steadfast prayer to the baking gods and building a strong rapport with the bread gods in particular (those guys are an upstanding bunch; they have treated me very well over the years).

So it is with joy, anticipation, and downright excitement that I say welcome back to Baking Summit one and all. I am well rested and overjoyed to continue our expedition together; to ride those ebbing highs and sinking lows; serving penance and great slabs of butter far and wide. Thanks so much for being here. Your support keeps me motivated and I am more grateful than words can say. Onward and upward we go!!!!!
