The Eleventh Bread of Christmas: Vanocka

Hello and Happy orthodox Christmas, Friends and Fellow Bakers! I will post the last bread tomorrow. Today we have Vanocka, from the Czech Republic.

I found this bread interesting to make, it is a fairly basic enriched bread with eggs and butter. The recipe (from the Czech cookbook) calls for raisins, but by the time I got to this bread I realized I forgot to put the currants I bought into a couple of the others so I put those in instead. The yeast ratio in this one is pretty high, so it made a very large, puffy bread. The flavours were pretty mild, so this bread could be used in various applications like French toast or bread pudding.
